All About Badminton Court
Badminton is played on a rectangular court, which varies in dimensions and surfaces. These
dimensions and court surfaces are set according to the BWF rules and regulations. For example,
according to these rules, the size of a badminton court is 44 feet long and 20 feet wide for doubles,
whereas the court measures 44 feet long and 17 feet wide.
A net is placed in the middle of the court, which divides the court into two equal parts, and these
badminton nets are made up of different materials like nylon, polyester, and vinyl. But nylon nets
are the most durable among all of them. Also, there are different types of traps available in the
market and online: Indoor nets, Outdoor nets, and Portable nets.
Badminton court ceilings also vary in height and dimensions, but BWF (Badminton World Federation)
has set the size to 39 feet, which is applied in all international championships and tournaments.
Rather than this, these badminton courts hold four different kinds of surfaces: Acrylic, Cement,
Synthetic, and Wooden. A synthetic surface is used in professional and international tournaments,
and a wooden surface is used in domestic and friendly matches. In contrast, acrylic and cement
courts are used by players for practicing and training.

Synthetic and acrylic court surfaces provide impressive shock absorption features to the players,
whereas wooden and cement court surfaces can be slippery and rough. So, you must be careful
while playing on such court surfaces and prevent yourself from facing severe injuries.
